Cattitude, Inc.
Last Saturday, some AZ bros and I got the pleasure of playing with the cats for adoption at Petco in Piscataway, NJ. They come from the rescue group, Cattitude, Inc. and can be found on petfinder.com. We volunteered there by helping them set up, clean cages, and socialize with the cats. I've also become their new volunteer photographer =]

New Nikon 50mm f/1.8 AF-S NIKKOR Lens!
The lens that I've been waiting for has finally arrived!
Funny story actually... It was supposed to have arrived from B&H yesterday, but thanks to Hurricane Irene, the shipping was delayed (said it'd arrive next week). In the meantime, me being impatient, I ordered the same lens again off Amazon.com in hopes of receiving it sooner. B&H came through and I got everything today. Soooo, I plan on returning the Amazon lens when it arrives. Oh well.
So I decided to go for the "Nifty Fifty" as they call it. It's got a really good range of depth and shoots really crisp indoor shots on moderate iso and relatively quick shutter. No more of that *go inside and turn iso to HI1 and make photos all grainy*. I'm really happy with the results, I just have to learn how to control it (focusing on where I want it exactly and whatnot).
Here are some sample shots from today of the fuzzy creatures that live in our house:
Russet, the cutie pie potatofaced puppy, and Kit Kat, the adorably timid tortie that kind of hates us all right now but she'll warm up to everyone eventually. Kit's been my main guinea pig for the night.
Curious kitty is curious. I need to figure out how to quickly focus on my target areas (eyes generally).

Creature Photo Blog
I love taking pictures. I love my dog. I love taking pictures of my dog. I love taking pictures of other people's dogs (and rabbits and cats for that matter). It was only a short matter of time before I started a blog for my amateur pet photography (or creature photos as I prefer calling them since I love taking pictures of wild animals too).
I'm not really trying to start a business or anything, but I'm definitely looking for some cuddly creatures to feature on this page so let the photo shoots begin!
